The area of a square field A = mi2.

The perimeter of the square field P = mi.

Example:

The area of a square plate A = 25 cm2

Find the perimeter of the square.

Solution: The area of a square click refresh (F5) where s is the length of each of the four sides of the square.

So the length of a side of the square click refresh (F5)

The perimeter of the square click refresh (F5)

Substituting A = 25 cm2 into the equation gives click refresh (F5)

This can be solved using the graphing calculator by entering 4*25^(1/2) into the Function f(x)= box.
Then click on the Plot Graph button. The answer will appear as f(x) = 20 below the Function f(x)= box.
Note that 25^(1/2) is the same as the square root of 25
