A ball of density ρb = 5000 kg/m3 is submerged into a beaker with a fluid
of density ρf = 890 kg/m3. The fluid plus the beaker on a scale before the
ball is submerged weighs Ws = 1 N. The volume of the ball is V = 6.0E-5 m3
When the ball is submerged into the beaker, the volume V of fluid flows out of the beaker.
(a) Find the weight of the ball.
(b) Find the scale reading when the ball is held in a position submerged (not on the bottom) in the water.
(c) Find the force applied to the string to hold the ball in the mid-beaker position.
(d) Find the scale reading if the ball is allowed to rest on the bottom of the beaker.
